Perverting Justice (2023)
Plaster, Hessian, Dye, Acrylic [180 x 90 x 90cm]
(Above Right) Work in progress (left) artist in studio
Birthed from within my first London studio, perverting justice was my ironic attempt to add commentary to the policing system in this country during the murder trial of Sarah Everard.
I placed these two abstracted, peculiar looking policemen emerging outside of the Hampstead police station (now Koppel Project studios). Their presence and strangeness enticed the passing public leading to this becoming an accidental performance.
I learnt a lot, construction wise making these sculptures & also the importance of making work that can exit my studio in order to live their artistic lives elsewhere.
