For my final year of arts week I chose to apply for my most ambitious budget, bravest idea and ideally work with a material I hadn't yet had the chance to grapple with. The most expensive part of this creation was the cost of shipping six aluminium sheets. Ironically, although aluminium is light, it holds its shape perfectly. So when I began to beat, whack and shape the sculptures I was able to expreince the material reacting to me. How it bent, curved and ripped was fascinating. I look forward to working with it again soon.
