I'm Not really sure yet (2021)

Papier-mache, Acrylic, timber, steel [185 x 50 x 50cm]

This is one of my favourite pieces of large sculptural work I've ever made.

I think its down to the fact that I was single handedly able to make it in the way I imagined to such a high level of accuracy. I was actually quite surprised by the structural integrity of papier-mache but on the other hand pleased for its light-weightedness.

I presented this work in a college crit (critque disucssion of artwork) and wasn't really sure what to call it or even what to say about it. So I aptly named this work 'I'm not really sure yet'.

It was my first time presenting a piece like this, it really was the start of a new body of work for me which I have thus far carried on with through my career from university to my own studio and professional life as an artist.

The crit was led by artist and tutor Richard Grayson and the overall opinion of my work was postive. I beelive it helped that I had a rather unuasual title and chose to say absolutely nothing about it.
