Moon Landing (2019)
Plaster, Hessian, Dye, Steel [180 x 90 x 90cm]
Documented within my first ever studio space. Ruskin art schools old basement studios within the High Street building. These studios were later closed due to mould, poor ventilation and unfit working conditions.
It was thrilling to have a desk space, unlimited time and freedom to create. This work's armature was self-welded under the supervision of a technician. I strongly disliked having to work to his schedule, and soon learnt how to construct armatures on my own in order to bypass his slow, onerous instruction.
Moon Landing, began as a maquette in my college room and was made larger than life with plaster, hessian and chicken wire. It was my biggest work to date and tremendous fun to complete.
Shortly after this photo series, I had to destroy the work and repurposed materials for my various other inventions that were awaiting construction.
